We are very happy to refer our customers to Just Kiln Time (http://justkilntimeshop.com), up Atlanta Road, just before in the Square in Marietta.  Cindy Davis, the Owner, has been a good friend to AFTH and has graciously agreed to allow our customers and employees to paint any unfinished pieces and have them fired at Just Kiln Time. Painting and firing will cost $10 per piece. It will cost $5.00 per piece just to fire your already painted piece (i.e. pottery-to-go items you finished at home). You must have your receipt to show her you purchased your pottery/bisque at Art...from the Heart.

A SPECIAL WORD FROM TRACEY PEW, PRESIDENT/OWNER OF ART...FROM THE HEART:

As most of you know, the economy has hit many businesses hard. It's not just been big businesses but especially the smaller businesses. All you have to do is to look around The Village and see the impact it has had.

I went back to work at Coca-Cola Enterprises in February of this year in my attempt to prevent our business from being one of those "casualties." The bulk of my salary at CCE has gone to sustain Art...from the Heart as our sales have not been enough to do that.

On Thursday, October 9th, we were hit another "blow" when my husband, Tim, was told that his department was being eliminated and, after almost 19 years with the company, November 28th was his last day with Harland Clarke. As a result of that news and the uncertainty of our future (when/where he could find a new job, what the new salary would be, etc.), it is with great sadness that I share with you that Art...from the Heart, LLC officially closed it's doors for business on December 31, 2008. It is truly with a heavy heart that I share this news. Those of you who know me best know this was a lifelong (20+ years) dream for me, but you also know that I believe that God is fully in control and that He must have a greater plan and purpose in the timing of all of this. 

I'm trusting His leading and I'm hoping that this is also part of His plan to get me back to the Northwest and my family...especially my "babies." The thought of that softens the blow a bit!

I know there is a bit of a "domino" affect to this decision and I hope we can all be in prayer for everyone this will impact, including AFTH employees and their families, our customers, our suppliers, our fellow merchants in The Village, and our Country. As much as I did NOT want to be another number in the dismal statistics we hear on the news, we now are.

My two "life verses" give me even more encouragement today...I hope they do you too...
